Carissa and I are all about MOM-ing smarter, not harder! When we saw the idea of a scavenger hunt for kids, it immediately made me think, what other daily toddler activities can we turn into a game for our kids? The first idea that popped into my head was stretching, toddler style. That is how “It’s Time to Stretch – Toddler Style” activity cards were born.
Daily stretching is very important for my son. It helps keep his muscles limber and makes it easier for him to play with his sister and his friends at daycare. BUT, like any toddler, he doesn’t like to stretch. It isn’t fun and, most importantly, it isn’t his idea.
Enter, “It’s Time to Stretch – Toddler Style” activity cards! I figured if stretching was a game, an activity, something he got to participate in and the cards told him what to do rather than mom or dad, it would be better accepted by him.
The other aspect we wanted to consider is how we could embed some learning! Enter Carissa’s teacher background. lol Therefore, the stretching cards also work in both different types of stretching and they tell you the major muscle groups you are stretching. Let’s make stretching fun and learn about our bodies at the same time!
